Starting situation

We are moving into a new flat/house. We want to install ceiling lights.

We are moving into a new flat/house but don’t need ceiling lights. There are fittings in the ceiling.

We already live in a flat/house and want a new ceiling light. We buy a ceiling light and now want to fit it.

Most of the time we find the following situation:

There is a hole in the ceiling with unprotected cables hanging out of it. The means of fixing the light is, at best, a hook; often nothing is provided at all.

Also, when attempting to install it yourself, there is a risk that the unprotected cables are live (if the light switch is on, which isn’t obvious) and you get an electric shock. Installing right under the ceiling is also awkward.

If you don’t want to fit a ceiling light in the room concerned, you have to cover the hole with a relatively large plastic plate. Fitting that is not always easy either.

My product

The product basically consists of two parts: the one that is permanently built into the building (sleeve) and the one that can be inserted into the installed part and taken out again (canister). The light is mounted on this one.

Once the canister is fixed in the ceiling, only it is visible, smooth and flush with the underside of the ceiling. This creates a clean look on the ceiling that meets visual standards even without a light.

The canister can be taken out of the ceiling. Any conventional type of ceiling light can then be fixed to this part and connected electrically – wherever you like and with no power on. Afterwards the canister with the attached light is pushed back into the ceiling. The light holds and is electrically connected.
