in vino veritas

This piece of furniture is really a technical experiment:

I wanted to develop a drawer mechanism that works without a carcass, with the drawer carried only on a central support.

I wanted to develop a castor mechanism that, through steered wheels, always rolls in the direction of the drawer.

So: the drawer can be rotated freely on the base, but it also steers the wheels in the “feet”. The base always stays oriented exactly the same way, even when the contraption is pushed criss-cross through the room.

And to give the whole thing a first practical use, this technical experiment is a kind of serving trolley: eight (wine) bottles can be “hung in” and rotated around the vertical axis. Eight wine glasses can be hung above them in the same way. These can be rotated too!

In the drawer you can now keep, for example, the corkscrew, cutlery, towels, napkins, etc.…

Actually quite practical… And pretty too…
